形態特徵

• An erect undershrub, 0.8–1.8 m high, strongly fetid; bark grey, lenticellate; branches terete, densely covered with short, stellate-tomentose hairs.
• Leaves chartaceous, thick, ovate-lanceolate or circular, 1–7 cm long, 0.5–3.5 cm wide, tapered or slightly acuminate, acute at apex, subcordate, rounded or tapered at base, 3–5(–7)-nerved, bluntly dentate; both surfaces densely tomentose, especially below; upper leaves obliquely lanceolate-elliptic; lower ones large, very shallowly lobed or not; petioles slender, 0.2–4 cm long, wholly tomentose.
• Inflorescence clustered, axillary; cymes of 2–3 cymules; peduncles 2.5–3 mm long; pedicels 2–3 mm long; bracteoles 1.5 mm long; buds oblong, 4.5 mm long, 1.2–1.5 mm thick, with apical appendages 0.5 mm long; sepals 5, 5–8 mm long, 1 mm wide, apiculate, linear-lanceolate, densely covered with stellate pubescence without, glabrous within; petals 5, 5–5.5 mm long, 1 mm wide, oblong, yellow; gonophore short, 0.3 mm long; glands 5, nearly circular; stamens (8-) 10; filaments glabrous, retrorsely serrate; ovary suborbicular, 0.7 mm long, 0.8–1 mm thick; spinules numerous, recurved upward; style slender, 5.2–5.5 mm long, gradually narrowed at apex; stigma enlarged, papillate.
• Capsules spinose, slightly dehiscent; capsules globose, 2.5–4 mm in diameter at maturity, glabrous; spines 3.5–5 mm long, slender, densely vertically pilose at base for 3/4 of length, sharp and straight at tip; cells 4, 2-seeded; seeds 8, semiovate, shining, glabrous, dark brown, 1.7 x 1.2 mm.
